ABOUT

For as long as I can remember I have been interested in taking and making pictures - whether it is with a camera or a pencil and paper.

I served as a Russian linguist in the Royal Navy and travelled throughout the West Indies, Central and South America as well as other less warm places - if I told you what I did I would have to shoot you. But nonetheless creativity played a great role in what I was doing.

After a life on the ocean waves I ventured into Fringe Theatre and with a couple of friends founded the Abacus Theatre Company in London where we produced shows such as Wagner's Ring Cycle for children at the Institute of Contemporary Art.

I have also spent time in front of the camera appearing in movies such as Royal Flash, Thunderball and The Man With The Golden Gun to name but three. I also learned more creative tricks and tips working on many television commercials and feature films alongside the likes of David Bailey and Neal Jordan.

With the advent of the digital revolution I inevitably became involved with computer animation and worked on a variety of productions including a music video for the Pet Shop Boys' track Liberation. We took the film on tour of the UK in an entertainment simulator which proved to be a huge success. From here I went on to make CGI films likeTime Gate to Egypt and Slot Car Boogie in my own studio and for this work I won International Awards in the UK and in the United States

I began exhibiting my artwork only in late 2009 and now I can count a number of people who have some of my pictures in their collection including MP Mike Weatherley and the broadcaster and beekeeper, Lavinia Culshaw.

In December 2010 I exhibited along with other artists such as Tracey Emin and Rob Ryan at the Catto Gallery, Hampstead. Our work was sold in aid of the Willow Foundation.

My style meanders between realistic and naive, surreal and Pop Art. Styles which I enjoy very much - not only in creating but also in the enjoyment of work by artists such as Rene Magritte, Salvador Dali, Peter Blake and Patrick Caulfield.
