I am a self-taught, full-time artist living in Brighton. I work across a range of disciplines from drawing to collage and, being an artist in the 21st Century I, like David Hockney and Julian Opie and others, also use digital tools.

Many of my works start from ideas scribbled into my ever-present notebook. These ideas mainly reflect deep personal moods and emotions picked up on my journey through life, which I hope can be thought-provoking for others too.

Working as a photographer and film-maker throughout my career I always had pictures buzzing around inside my head but these were usually realised at the behest of others. Having taken the decision to break away from those strict guidelines I now have freedom of expression unfettered by meeting other peoples' deadlines.

My work is intentionally colourful and bright and full of contrast, however, sometimes when I set out to create a new piece I may only have a vague idea of where I might be going. There have been many times that days later I return to a piece only to find a message writ large emanating from what I produced. It is this subliminal aspect of self-examination of the unconscious that intrigues me most about producing my art works.
