Ian and Rae-Sarah formed their working partnership in 2013. Despite having very different approaches to their own art practices they have together developed a successful collaborative method of working and a constantly evolving body of contemporary and decorative works. From collections of early 20th Century ephemera to multi-media paintings of modern day supercars. The examples found here express the vitality and range of processes they continue to engage with.
Ian Williams' working life began in the Royal Navy where he served as a Russian linguist. Leaving the navy after 8 years Ian went on to spend most of his career as a Creative Director, Writer and Producer within the film and television industry. He has won awards both here in the UK and in the United States for his work with computer animation.
The 21st Century saw Ian become a full-time artist. He works with a range of materials from painting with acrylics, inks and watercolours to collage and digital compositing in order to produce visually engaging originals and prints. Ian is continually building his artistic practice. His work has been short-listed for the National Open Art competition 2-years running; he has sold work to private individuals and via a number of galleries; and was commissioned by Mike Weatherly, MP., to create two pictures: one of Rory Gallagher's beat-up Fender and the other was Zakk Wylde's Les Paul - all very rock 'n' roll. |
